Vadium Technology Announces Pemex’s Selection of AlphaCipher to Protect Critical Information.

TACOMA, WA (November 16, 2005) – Vadium Technology, Inc., (www.vadiumtech.com) the developer of the AlphaCipher Encryption System is pleased to announce that the Division of Corporate Finance of Petróleos Mexicanos (“Pemex”) (www.pemex.com) has deployed AlphaCipher to protect key financial and corporate information. Pemex licensed AlphaCipher from Vadium’s wholly owned subsidiary in Mexico, AlphaCipher Systems – Latin America, S.A. de C.V.

“We’re very pleased with the successful deployment of AlphaCipher within Pemex,” stated Mr. Gustavo Duay, Director of Information Security for Pemex’s Division of Corporate Finance. “AlphaCipher enables our executives to communicate sensitive information directly and respond to new and developing situations, while complying with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.”

Many industries operate in very competitive business environments where critically sensitive information is under constant threat of attack from both internal and external forces. These threats were recently highlighted in London, at the Political Risk 2005 conference sponsored by the Royal Institute of International Affairs (www.riia.org). At this conference, international oil and gas companies discussed significant and growing security risks encountered as they explore the world in search of oil and gas resources. Petroleum enterprises must deal with industrial espionage, kidnappings, and guerrilla movements, as well as the threat of terrorist attacks. At the conference, the Royal Dutch / Shell Group (www.shell.com) discussed its increase in IT security in Russia because of threats of industrial espionage.

“We are honored to be working with Pemex to protect their financial information,” stated Tom Gutierrez, Vice President of Sales for Vadium. “Secure communication of sensitive information between field executives and a company’s Board of Directors in hostile operating environments is critical to the growth and success of organizations in the international petroleum industry. AlphaCipher is the ideal tool for oil and gas companies looking to protect their mission critical information. It empowers executives in multi-national corporations to securely communicate sensitive information seamlessly across the backbone of un-trusted telecommunication systems and networks.”
