The Company has attracted a strong group of individuals for its Board of Directors. These individuals have significant experience at both the startup level as well as executive experience at the Fortune 500 Corporate level. The Members of the Management Team and Board of Directors have extensive experience in working with the US Government, US Military, and US Intelligence Agencies in information security matters. The Company executive team includes the Company's founders and an individual with extensive experience in the development, financing, building and commercialization of technology startups.

 

 

Mr. Wolfgang S. Hammersmith: Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder

Wolfgang Hammersmith, the founder and inventor of the AlphaCipher Encryption System, developed the current product and associated Key Generation Systems for a period of eighteen years prior to founding the Company.

Mr. Hammersmith is an expert in security matters with extensive international experience. He is also a licensed Ship's Master, a licensed Armed Private Investigator and Agency Principal in Washington State, and a helicopter pilot. His recreational interests include chess, scuba diving (PADI Dive Master and PADI Master Diver) and he is also an avid motorcyclist with over 1 million street miles since 1962.

Mr. Rod G. Nicholls: Chief Financial Officer & Director

Rod Nicholls is the Chief Financial Officer of Vadium Technology, and most recently served as the Senior Vice-President & CFO of Reality Based Learning Company (RBL). At RBL, he was instrumental in the company's turnaround success and positioned it for its sale to The McGraw-Hill Companies. Prior to working with RBL, Rod was Chief Financial Officer of eNIC Corporation, a profitable Internet Infrastructure company acquired by VeriSign, Inc. subsequent to his departure.

Mr. Nicholls is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Washington. He graduated from Eastern Washington University, with a BA in Business Administration with concentrations in both Accounting & Finance.

Ms. Elizabeth Hammersmith: Chief Operations Officer, Secretary, Director and Founder

Elizabeth Hammersmith worked with Wolfgang Hammersmith for eighteen years, assisting in the design and layout of AlphaCipher and its Key Generation Systems.

Ms. Hammersmith achieved recognition as an executive producer affectively reaching target audiences while working within strict time and budget requirements. In addition, Elizabeth is a licensed Ship's Master, an Armed Private Detective licensed in the State of Washington, and was the youngest woman in the nation to receive her helicopter pilot's license. Her recreational interests include chess, scuba diving (PADI Dive Master and PADI Master Diver) and she is also an avid motorcyclist.

The Honorable Robert C. McFarlane: Member, Board of Directors

Mr. McFarlane is currently the Chairman of Energy & Communications Solutions, LLC, an infrastructure development firm engaged in the design, finance, construction and operation of energy projects in emerging markets. Its geographic focus includes Russia, the Caucasus, central Europe, Turkey, and other selected CIS countries.

After a distinguished career of public service culminated in his service as President Ronald Reagan's National Security Advisor, Robert McFarlane founded his own energy development company, Global Energy Investors LLC, sponsoring major international power projects in Brazil, Pakistan, the Philippines, and China. He has also served as a consultant to foreign governments on energy, infrastructure, and privatization policies. Apart from his business activities, Mr. McFarlane remains a respected figure in international affairs. He is frequently called upon to advise the U.S. and other governments, the U.S. Congress, and the news media.

He first served in the White House as a White House Fellow and subsequently became special assistant in turn to Henry Kissinger and Brent Scowcroft, National Security Advisors to presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Subsequently he served as President Ford's Special Assistant for National Security Affairs, and later as Counselor to the Secretary of State. When he returned to the White House he held several positions of high responsibility before being appointed to President Reagan's National Security Advisor, responsible for the development of U.S. foreign and defense policy.

Prior to his career in the public sector, Mr. McFarlane saw extensive combat as a Marine Corps officer after graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy. Later he was chosen as an Olmsted Scholar and was awarded a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva, Switzerland.

Lt. General, Donald L. Cromer: Member, Board of Directors

Retired Lt. Gen. Donald L. Cromer's celebrated career has been both broad and distinguished within the aerospace industry. He was president of Hughes Space and Communications Company (HSC), the world's leading manufacturer of commercial communications satellites until his retirement in December 1998. During his Air Force career, he achieved the rank of lieutenant general, and served as Commander of the Space Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command, at Los Angeles Air Force Base. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of several for profit and non-profit organizations.

Cromer is a life member of the Air Force Association and a recipient of its Schriever Award. He is a fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 1988, he received an honorary doctorate from National University, and in 1991, the National Geographic Society presented him with the Thomas D. White Award.

Cromer graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1959 and accepted a commission from the United States Air Force. He earned a Master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Denver in 1969 and was also a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College in 1973. Cromer has attended the executive program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and completed the National Security Management course at Harvard University.

Rear Admiral Bill Center: Member, Board of Directors

Rear Admiral Center is currently the President of the Washington Council on International Trade, a private, nonprofit, non-partisan association of trade interests in Washington State, whose purpose is to inform, advocate, and educate the public, elected leadership, educators, and the media about the role and importance of trade.

Bill retired from the US Navy as Rear Admiral in 1999 after 35 years of distinguished service. During his naval career he commanded three ships and served in a wide variety of assignments at sea and ashore, including three years as Chief Engineer on the aircraft carrier USS MIDWAY. He and his family resided in Japan during three different assignments totaling eight years. In his final Navy tour, from May 1996 to May 1999, he commanded the Navy's third largest fleet concentration area, Navy Region Northwest. In that capacity he was responsible for Naval activities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska, encompassing 25,000 naval personnel, 18,000 civilian employees and annual outlays of more than $2.8 billion. Throughout his military career, he earned numerous military awards including the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, and Defense Superior Service Medal.

During the two years between retiring from the Navy and joining WCIT, Bill devoted himself to nonprofit leadership and volunteer work. He directed CRISTA Ministries Urban Academies and served on the local boards of the Red Cross, Civic Light Opera, SEAFAIR, Rotary Club of Seattle and the USO. He is currently on the boards of Northwest Center for the Retarded, the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation, and Green Lake United Methodist Church.

Bill is a specialist in policy analysis, strategic planning and organization development. He served as a senior advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff on arms control, non-proliferation, environmental matters, and international agreements. He was General Colin Powell's deputy Director for international negotiations and served in the same role for General John Shalikashvili. He currently serves as military analyst for KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington.

He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and the University of Washington Graduate School of Public Affairs.

Mr. Stuart W. Evey: Member, Board of Directors

Mr. Evey currently is a business development consultant for several startup and mature privately held companies. He also currently serves or served on the board of directors of many public and private companies and civic organizations, including Home Savings of America, Mitsubishi Oil Company of Japan, and Cyan, Inc., the makers of the computer games, Myst and Riven.

Prior to embarking on his current consulting practice, he spent a 26-year career with Getty Oil Company, serving in a variety of management positions. In 1972, he was named Vice President of Getty's worldwide non-oil activities that included the direction of companies in five continents, including commercial real estate holdings, lumber and plywood mills in Africa and the United States, wine and agribusiness developments in California, and the management of hotel and resort properties in Acapulco, Mexico, and New York City, along with real estate holdings in England. In 1979, he founded and directed the development and launch by Getty of the nation's first 24-hour sports cable television network, ESPN. He served as chairman and CEO of ESPN, until he negotiated its sale to ABC in 1985. He is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Mr. Kenyon Luce, Esq.: Member, Board of Directors

Ken Luce has been engaged in the private practice of law for 35 years, and is the founder of the Law Firm of Luce, Lombino & Riggio, P.S. - a firm consisting of 31 attorneys and 28 support staff providing a full range of legal services to its clients. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. In 1995 he was the recipient of the AARP Community Partnership Award, a national award given by AARP for his assistance in protecting seniors from financial abuse. In 1998, he was a recipient of a Legal Assistance Distinguished Service Award, a national award presented by the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Assistance to Military Personnel.

Active in his community personally and professionally, Ken is a past president of Rotary, a member of the Alzheimer's Association of Washington, Masonic Lodge, Navy League and has served on various community boards including the Police Advisory Board and the Parks and Recreation Board. During his career, Ken worked for OEO Legal Services, serving ten years as a City Prosecutor, ten years as a Municipal Court Judge and five years as a City Attorney. Ken is admitted to practice before the Federal Tax Court, as well as all state courts and the Federal District Court for Western Washington and Supreme Court of the United States.

Ken was honorably discharged from the U.S.N.R. He is a member of the Pierce County, American, and Washington State Bar Associations. He has been a member of various committees thereof, including serving as a member and Chairman of the Legal Services to the Armed Forces Committee, as a Special District Counsel and as a Hearings Officer for the Washington State Disciplinary Board. He recently served as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel.

Ken attended Willamette Law School and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1967 and a BA degree from Central Washington State University.

Mr. Burt Margolis: Member, Board of Directors

Burt Margolis retired from Warner/Elektra/Atlantic Corp. (WEA) June 30, 2001, after completing 21 years of service with the company. WEA is part of the Warner Music Group, a division of AOL Time Warner whose mission is the physical distribution of pre-recorded music (CD's, cassettes and DVD's) and prerecorded video (VHS and DVD's). Burt's last position at WEA was Vice President of MIS with responsibility for application development, computer operations, software support and infrastructure.
