Vadium Technology and MXI Security Combine Products to Deliver Portable Integrated Unbreakable Encryption Solutions
Combination of Vadium’s AlphaCipher Unbreakable Encryption System with MXI Security’s New MXP Series of Portable Security Devices Brings the Highest Levels of Data Security and Privacy to Distributed Organizations.
TACOMA, WA – February 5, 2007 – Vadium Technology, Inc. the leading provider of easy to use unbreakable data security and privacy solutions along with MXI Security™, designers and manufacturers of portable security devices that combine the power of secure storage with identity, encryption and authentication services, are pleased to announce the formation of a strategic alliance to deliver Vadium’s AlphaCipher unbreakable data encryption solutions using MXI Security’s MXP series of secure portable storage devices.
With AlphaCipher, anyone can securely and confidently transmit or store digital information in the open, across un-trusted communication networks. Vadium’s patent pending AlphaCipher Encryption System is based on 20 years of research and development and implements a true digital One-Time-Pad (“OTP”) cipher. In use since 1917, the OTP is accepted as the only truly unbreakable encryption system. Due to several historical technical implementation hurdles, the OTP has been impractical to deploy except in limited circumstances inside the intelligence community. Vadium’s solutions to these historical technical hurdles have made the AlphaCipher Encryption System, the first easy to use unbreakable digital encryption system that can be deployed across a team, a department, an enterprise and beyond.
MXI Security’s line of Stealth MXP “stick” drives and larger Outbacker portable mass storage devices offer the highest level of secure, portable data storage featuring biometric and password authentication, transparent data encryption (AES 256), and a patent pending communication protocol that provides true portability in any environment that supports USB mass storage.
“We are very pleased to announce this alliance with MXI Security,” said Wolfgang Hammersmith, Vadium Technology’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “In this information age, governments and organizations rely on the strength of data security and privacy to accomplish their missions and even protect lives. Vadium’s AlphaCipher Encryption System provides the highest level of data security and privacy in the world, but that security in turn depends upon the security protecting the encryption key. Our clients must have a secure, portable method of protecting that key. With the multiple levels of security available in the MXP series of portable storage devices, we can offer an even higher level of assurance to our clients.”
AlphaCipher can be operated in two different modes: in installed mode, the AlphaCipher application is loaded onto a computer while the key is stored on separate media such as a USB connected Stealth MXP “stick” drive or a larger Outbacker portable storage device. The USB drive holding the key must be present in order to decrypt the data. In stealth mode, both the AlphaCipher application and the key are stored and executed from the USB “stick” drive or storage device thus leaving no history on the PC. Installed mode adds a layer of security by restricting encryption or decryption to only one computer. Stealth mode provides greater flexibility by allowing a user to encrypt or decrypt data from any USB compatible computer without leaving any trail on the host computer.
“This is exactly the kind of application we had in mind when we designed the MXP series of secure portable storage devices,” said Gerard Reusing, President of MXI Security. “Our strength in authentication, encryption and our ability to work in any environment that supports a USB connection, makes our MXP secure portable storage devices the ideal compliment to the AlphaCipher Encryption System. Together, our clients will have truly unbreakable data security and privacy.”
